House destroyed in Manila fire

06/17/10 - MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE) Fire razed a two-story house in Sampaloc, Manila Thursday morning but no one was reported hurt, a fire official said.

Fire 0ffice 2 Lords Hernandez of the Manila Fire Bureau said the blaze destroyed the house at No. 601 Sobriedad St. (not Cristobal St. as earlier reported) owned by one Teodoro Ramos.

Hernandez said the fire started at 9:45 a.m. and was put out at 10:13 am.

He said they were still investigating the cause of the fire which damaged an estimated P100,000 worth of property. (inquirer)
